Cristiano Ronaldo under ‘attack’ following Juventus stunning exit from the Champions
- Cristiano Ronaldo was signed by Juventus in 2018 to help win the Champions League - The Portuguese striker has failed to inspire the side to reach the last eight of this season’s tournament - Ronaldo has been blamed for being the cause of their loss to FC Porto
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticised for being responsible for Porto’s second goal as the Portuguese club dump the Old Lady out of the Champions League. Manager Andrea Pirlo will be upset according to former English footballer Jamie O’Hara who blamed 36-year-old Ronaldo for jumping away, letting a 30-yard-freekick go into the net leaving goalkeeper Wojciech SzczÄ™sny scrambling down to his right to no avail.
However, earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has been in sparkling form for Juventus this season leading the Serie A scorers’ chart with 20 goals in 21 matches in the Italian topflight. The Portuguese superstar was rested for a number of matches in the past couple of seasons, but at 36, he continues to find the back of the net with ease. Quite a number of Juventus players are out of action due to injury or the other and club manager says Ronaldo won’t be rested for now.
